What’s up, Hypenerds? I am back with another article for those who want to be fly and save some bread. While kicks like Jordan’s and Yeezys are expensive & exclusive, anyone can be fly without breaking the bank. Today’s article is my top 5 sneakers for under $100. The idea of this article is from my previous work experience at Shoe Palace and people asking me for cool sneakers at low prices. People were surprised by some of these shoes and were fascinated with these kicks off the batt.
The criteria for this list is basic to understand:
- All of these shoes are under $100 with tax or shipping/handling(prices listed with shoes do not include tax and shipping/handling).
- They can be found in multiple retail spaces and online.
- Each has more than one colorway that look good.
The list is in order from cheapest to most expensive. Without further adieu, we start this list with the granddaddy of them all
Chuck Taylors Low/High($50/55 on converse.com)

Converse Chuck Taylors or Chucks are the first multipurpose sports shoe. First released in 1922 for the athlete Chuck Taylor, the canvas shoe is a classic sneaker. The Chuck has gone thru minor changes since the original model and an excellent shoe for casual, everyday wear. With a multitude of colors and cheap customization on the website, buying a new pair of chucks every year will not break the bank for most people. If you need more comfort, the Chuck IIs are only $10-20 more expensive.
Vans Old Skool($60 on vans.com)

While I could put the entire Vans Brand in this list, I decided on the Vans Old Skools because I think it is the best-looking shoe from the brand. Old Skools are a low-cut, multi-material skateboarding shoe. Unlike most skate shoes, Old Skools are slick, versatile, and can complement other brand’s clothing. Either in the classic black and white colorway or multi colorways, an outfit including this kicks will look good.
Nike Cortez($75 on nike.com)

Made famous by the movie Forrest Gump and a classic for West Coast rappers, the Nike Cortez is a perfect kick for the spring and summer. The leather or nylon upper is sturdy against dirt/mud and makes the sneaker easy to clean. The slick silhouette of the shoe makes the shoe versatile for every fit throughout the year. Many classic colorways like the black/white, red, white, and blue, etc. will give off the chill West Coast vibe associated with the shoes.
Adidas Superstar($80 on adidas.com)

Looking at the Adidas Superstars, the sneakers perfectly describes the 30 years of fashion: fresh, comfortable, and versatile. Made famous in the 1980s by breakdancers and the rap group Run DMC, the Superstars are similar to the Nike Cortez. The leather upper is resilient to dirt/mud, and the silhouette makes it versatile in styling. The only difference from the Nike Cortez is the lack of colorways readily available. Many stores will usually carry the white/black and black/white, and Adidas typically don’t make many other colors. Still, Adidas is a excellent shoe for its price.
Nike Air Force 1s Low($90 on nike.com)

Finally, one of the most purchased shoes of all time: The Nike Air Force 1. Initially designed in the late 1970s for basketball, the Air Force 1 has survived for almost four decades because Nike has done a great job with marketing and distributing the shoe worldwide. The most popular e colorways is all whites AF1s which sell out immediately, but Nike provides many other colorways and collaborations for the consumer.
My other favorites that missed out
Adidas Continental 80s($80.00)
Jordan 1 Lows($90.00)
Reebok Club C 85($70.00)
Reebok Aztrek($90.00)
Nike Court Royale ($60.00)
